Royal Brunei back to Sydney, adds Melbourne

12/4/2009 9:46:12 AM

Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) is expanding with a planned fleet update and new routes - including Melbourne and Sydney.

The airline also will replace its ageing B767 fleet with new B777s by  mid-2010 and 787 Dreamliners (expected late 2013 due to production  delays) and 737-800s from 2011. Tentative new routes from next year include a return of services to Sydney and Shanghai with new flights to Ujung Padang (Indonesia) and Penang (Malaysia).

From 2011, additional routes in the planning stages include Melbourne, Bahrain, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Narita, Chennai, and Beijing. Significant future moves include non-stop flights to London in the second half of 2012 and to Los Angeles in 2013 with the delivery of new aircraft.
