DHL Supply Chain Vietnam was recently awarded 3PL (third-party logistics) company of the year in Vietnam, by the Supply Chain Community at its annual Vietnam Supply Chain Awards.
“The award is an affirmation of the support from our customers, and the hard work and commitment of our people in Vietnam. We have the privilege of operating in a dynamic, fast growing economy with improved signs of recovery – the award recognises that DHL is on the right track, facilitating the growth of Vietnam's import and export economy,” said Ryan Tang, Country Manager, Vietnam, DHL Supply Chain.
Economic indicators for Vietnam are looking up – EuroCham is predicting 6.5 percent growth for Vietnam in 2010, and export and import revenues are expected to reach 66.4-67.8 billion USD' and 77.5-80 billion USD respectively.
DHL’s customer-focused approach has clearly paid off. Ms. Nguyen Tran Hoang Yen, Supply Chain Director of Nestle Vietnam, congratulated DHL Supply Chain team at the awards ceremony. “I would like to congratulate DHL Supply Chain Vietnam on this well-deserved award. Nestle Vietnam have a long term relationship with DHL Supply Chain Vietnam, and we certainly look forward to doing more with DSC Vietnam in the future. Well done,” she said.
“We view this award as a challenge to stay ahead and deliver the best solutions and customer experience for the market. To do this, we are continually investing in our people and processes,” said Mr. Tang. DHL has an established history in Vietnam. DHL Express was first established in 1988, and DHL Supply Chain entered the market in 2001, building on its understanding of local market conditions, and growing in tandem with the development of Vietnam.
The Supply Chain Community's award was voted by customers, suppliers and logistics firms on a public website. The short listed nominees were then evaluated by a judgment committee group of all senior Directors and over 20 years experience in Supply Chain and Logistics as well as International University.
“To be awarded something this prestigious and under such rigorous scrutiny from industry experts and analysts, as well as from partners and most importantly customers, certainly makes our award a deep honor, and a motivator to go even further in the year of the Tiger,” said Mr. Tang.
The Supply Chain Community was founded in 2003 as a leading independent not-for-profit platform to support and promote the cross industry collaboration; offering vital link for supply chain and learning opportunity to over 10,000 Supply Chain professionals in Vietnam which counts all major local, international 3PLs, manufacturers and retails as members. The VSC Awards was developed to communicate lesson learnt, best practices applied locally, and technology that has demonstrated positive results for visionary and leading organizations.
