Australia’s International Air Services Commission (IASC) is considering an application by Qantas for “unlimited capacity and frequency for all-cargo services” on the Korea route.
In the application Jane McKeon, the airline’s head of government and international relations, said Qantas wanted to introduce a weekly B744F freighter routing Sydney-Seoul Incheon – Anchorage – Chicago using wet-leased Atlas Air equipment.
Qantas is keen to get things operational by June 7 “or as soon as all necessary approvals have been received”.
Qantas Freight recently appointed Helistar Air Co as its gsa in Korea. That contract came into effect on May 8.
