Maritime Vietnam 2011, the premier international maritime event will be held at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre on 9 – 11 March 2011. The exhibition will showcase the best and latest from a targeted 350 exhibitors and represented companies representing over 20 countries and regions including China, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Korea, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UAE, UK and others.

Maritime Vietnam 2011, into its 3rd year in Vietnam, continues to receive strong industry support and endorsement from Baltic & International Maritime Council (BIMCO), British Marine Equipment Association (BMEA), Holland Marine Equipment, Institute of Marine Engineers India, Indian National Shipowners Association (INSA), Maritime Norway, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Singapore (SNAMES), and Society of Maritime Industries.

This 2011 show follows on the success of the last Maritime Vietnam in 2009 which saw 15 participating countries and attracted some 3,400 highly targeted trade visitors from 19 countries and regions.  Of these, over 32% were key decision makers and another 44% who make recommendations, further underscoring the quality of visitors attending Maritime Vietnam.

“The Vietnamese maritime industry is already growing in tandem with the economic rebound,” Ms Rosalind Ng, Managing Director (Asia) of IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd., said. “With the government’s support of USD750 million to develop the sector, the maritime industry in Vietnam is set to develop and grow rapidly, to cope with impending pressure from increasing trade. There is no better time than now for Maritime Vietnam 2011 to boost its standing as the most timely industry event to bring the local Vietnamese and regional industry players, as well as the international maritime community, together to meet this challenge.”

The exhibition will showcase sectors including shipbuilding, marine equipment and supplies, oil and gas, port & logistics industries. In addition, a series of interactive special activities is being planned including a Hosted Buyers Programme, Site Visits to Shipyard, as well as a major conference held alongside the exhibition.

The Hosted Buyers Programme targets leading ship owners and key decision makers for shipyards will be hosted to attend exclusive meetings and networking sessions during the show. A unique feature of the Maritime series is the Site Visits to Shipyards, allowing first-hand opportunity to witness personally the enormous potential and demands of the rapidly growing ports in Vietnam.

To further enhance networking among participants, a major conference will be held concurrently with the exhibition focusing on ship finance, ports and logistics and shipbuilding. Industry leaders, movers and shakers will share their experiences, knowledge and overview on current market and industry scenarios.  In addition, the Interactive Technical Seminars provide more practical insights, interactive discussions and informative presentations about the industry’s latest developments and trends.
