Thai Airways International plans to procure 37 new aircraft between 2011 and 2017 to expand and rejuvenate its fleet, airline president Piyasvasti Amranand said.
The national carrier plans to seek 11 narrow-body aircraft and 26 wide-body aircraft through both operating lease and financial lease methods, reported Dow Jones Newswires.
The additional aircraft will take Thai Airways' fleet to 105 planes in 2017 from 84 at present and reduce the average age of its aircraft to 8.4 years from the current 11.6 years, Piyasvasti said.
