Globe Express Services (GES) has further expanded its Far East network with the addition of a corporate office in Tokyo, Japan.
According to Globe Express chairman and CEO Ziad Korban, Japan is setting a blistering pace in its trade with China. “Couple that with traditionally strong Japan-US cargo flows, and you’ll see why Globe is setting up shop in Tokyo,” he said.
Japan boasts a $4 trillion economy that considers the US and China as its top trading partners in terms of both exports and imports.
Globe said that the new Tokyo office is an important milestone in its aggressive 2006 global expansion, which included seven other new corporate offices: Canada, Brazil, Turkey, Malaysia, China and Vietnam.
Globe now operates 22 corporate locations worldwide: China (Hong Kong, Taipei, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xiamen, Tianjin, Qingdao, Ningbo, Dalian), Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Turkey, Lebanon, the United States (Charlotte, NC; Columbus, OH), Brazil and Canada (Toronto, Vancouver).
