Maersk Raises Rates From India to Latin America, Caribbean

Maersk Line imposed a general rate increase on trades from India to Latin America and the Caribbean, starting March 1. The planned increase on dry and reefer cargo will be $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot high cube container. The announcement follows a $560 per-TEU and an $800 per-FEU GRI the world’s largest liner operator applied Jan. 1 on the Far East-Latin America-Caribbean trade lanes. Other container carriers, including Hamburg Sud and CSAV, also raised rates on services from the Indian subcontinent to Latin America and the Caribbean. The Journal of Commerce Online
