The liner carrier Emirates Shipping Line said it plans to raise rates on several trades from Asia, beginning in March.
The increases are:
- $250 per TEU on March 1, and again on April 1, for trade from the Far East and Southeast Asia to east Africa.
- $150 per TEU on March 1, $100 per TEU on March 15, $150 per TEU on April 1, and another $100 per TEU on April 15 from the Far East and Southeast Asia to the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East.
- $50 per TEU on March 1 and April 1 for intra-Asia trade.
