EMIRATES Shipping Line, headquartered in Dubai and Hong Kong, has announced it is implementing a general rate increase (GRI) on its Middle East and East Africa tradelanes "in light of recent market developments" and "market conditions".
Starting from August 15, westbound shipments to the Middle East from the Far East and South East Asia will be subject to a rate hike of US$200 per TEU and US$400 per FEU.
From September 1, freight rates for westbound shipments to East Africa from the Far East and South East Asia will rise by US$300 per TEU, a company statement said.
