Following the dropping of calls at Durban on its Indian Ocean Relay service (See Copy 5037, May 22nd), MOL is to open a new service to cover South Africa, and this time includes West Africa.
Port coverage for this service will be: Jebel Ali, Nhava Sheva, Durban, Lagos, Cotonou, Tema, Capetown, Durban, Jebel Ali.
On this service, which is planned to run every 12 days, five ships of around 1,200 teu capacity will be deployed.
The Capetown call will be particularly important for the reefer trade with connections offered to and from South America East coast.
