Hồ Chí Minh City, September 18, 2008 – At Sofitel Plaza, MGC Institute of Logistics (MIL) and M&P International Co., Ltd., are hosting an International conference” “Risks Management in Logistics and Supply Chain” sponsored by Insurance Brokers Gras Savoye Willis Vietnam Co., Ltd., Globelink Co., Ltd., and Joint Stock Hải Minh Co.
While the global fuel oil crisis has been creating a vast change in the shipping market, Vietnam’s young industry of logistics and supply chain in the 2nd year of full status of WTO member has become more vulnerable. Fuel prices are now reaching levels where companies need to start seriously re-evaluating their logistics networks. Identifying, reducing and above all, managing risks in the most efficient way is the key to success. The International conference “Risks Management in Logistics and Supply Chain” creates a unique forum to discuss key issues on risk management among attendees and logistics experts, government authorities as well as seniors officials from leading companies, who will share their hand-on experiences in logistics activities in Việt Nam with the ultimate goal to provide attendees the ability to set up their own plans to protect/improve business from logistics/supply chain risks in the turbulent local and global turbulent conditions.

MGC Institute of Logistics (MIL), going into operation in April, 2008, is the first ever in Vietnam private, independent and open institute, specializing in research, education and training in all respects of logistics industry. MIL’s Board consists of leading and experienced experts from all over the country and abroad.
MIL has conducted short-term and long-term training courses as well as advance courses relevant to logistics and transportation service providers including ocean transportation, airfreight transportation, third party logistics providers, forwarders and shippers. The courses’ programs are designed by the Institute’s members. It also has different joint training programs cooperating with logistics academies and schools in Australia, USA, Singapore, Netherlands, etc for those who would like to study further in logistics.
