Dutch shipowner withdraws boxship investment plan

11/8/2008 9:52:34 AM

Citing adverse economic conditions, Dutch shipowner JR Shipping has decided to withdraw plans to invest in a new container ship.

The company blamed ongoing disorder in financial markets and a wait-and-see attitude by investors for the decision to end investment plans for the Balticmax vessel Elegant, the company said in a statement.

The company had invited investor interest in the plan in October.
