UASC starts Far East/Europe service

11/1/2008 9:34:03 AM

While most carriers are pulling capacity, or pondering the idea, from the Far East/Europe trade, UASC will start a new loop, called the AEC 2, using its new "A7" class 6,900-TEU capacity ships.

Hanjin Shipping and Senator Lines are taking space and calling it CME service. The port rotation for the service is Rotterdam, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Khorfakkan, Singapore, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Singapore, Jeddah and Rotterdam.

Meanwhile, Wan Hai and PIL are ending their Far East/Europe service, the FES, Lloyd's List reported.

The service used eight 4,250-TEU ships and one 3,075-TEU vessel, with five from PIL and four from Wan Hai, which will now take slots from COSCO.
