South Korean-based ocean carrier Hanjin Shipping said it has taken delivery of the 4,300-TEU Hanjin Kingston.
Christened at Samsung Heavy Industries on Geoje Island, South Korea on Thursday, the ship is the fifth in a series of eight 4,300-TEU ships ordered by Hanjin in 2005.
The Kingston, which according to Hanjin consumes less fuel than any other ship of the same class and can easily change speed according to operational situations, will be deployed in the carrier’s China North Europe Express service on Nov. 10.
The CNX service rotation is Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jeddah, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Jeddah, Singapore and Qingdao.
