Maersk Line announced plans to lower bunker surcharges imposed earlier on cargo moving from the West Coast of South America to the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East-Asia region, effective Dec. 1.
In an advisory to the trade, the Danish carrier said the surcharges will be $377 per TEU and $754 per FEU compared with $684 and $1,368 at present.
In a separate notice, the carrier said it reduced such charges for the trade from New Zealand to the Far East Asia, the Middle East, the Red Sea, the Indian Subcontinent, Africa and Southern Europe.
Effective Nov. 12, the revised charges are $575 per TEU and $1,150 per FEU, down from $775 and $1,550 levied earlier.
