Hong Kong-based port-to-telecommunication conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa has announced its port unit Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) has clinched a 25-year port operation contract with Ports of Stockholm Group, the South China Morning Post reported.
Pursuant to the agreement, HPH will be entitled to operate Frihamnen container terminal and develop a container port in Stockholm.
Meanwhile, it was also granted a 25-year contract to develop and operate a new container terminal, which is designed to be developed in three phases and commerce operation in 2012.
Separately, the Hong Kong-based terminal operator earlier this month had signed an agreement with Shenzhen Yan Tian Port Holdings Co Ltd to jointly construct and develop the Shenzhen Yan Tian East Port Phase 1 container terminal project in Shenzhen.
