Iranian carrier IRIS Lines is restructuring its deep sea services by merging its two Far East/Middle East strings (PCL and PHL) into a single loop (New PCL.
The New PCL loop covers the ports served by the PHL, except Mumbai, which will be covered with the new version of AMX. The New PCL will use seven ships of 5,000 to 6,500 TEUs. The previous PCL service had a port rotation of Bandar Abbas, Singapore, Qingdao, Gwangyang, Busan, Ningbo, Singapore, Jebel Ali and Bandar Abbas, using four 3,300-TEU vessels and one 2,200 ship.
The previous PHL service had a port rotation of Bandar Abbas, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Chiwan, Singapore, Klang, Mumbai, Jebel Ali and Bandar Abbas.
IRISL is also revising its Far East-Med AMX service with the inclusion of a Mumbai westbound call, so that it continues to offer the Far East/India link provided until now by the PHL, AXS-Alphaliner said. The AMX port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Mumbai, Jeddah, Damietta, Genoa, Valencia, Malta, Shanghai, Ningbo and Chiwan, using six vessels of 2,744 TEUs, one of 3,300 TEUS and 2,188 TEUs, according to ComPair Data.
