New rules from Riyadh customs

2/3/2009 9:52:54 AM

Some of the containers are arriving at Riyadh Dry Port via Dammam sea port, carrying un-palletized cargo inside. Such practice is completely breaking the law of International Maritime Services and violate the systems of sea port regulation. To maintain the safety procedure during customs inspection & offloading at cnees stores the Saudi Railway Organization has requested all concern to advise their principals and suppliers to comply with the rules and regulations of marine services. Any violation to the above will impose a penalty for each container as follow:

Penalty for non-palletize cargo in containers:

SR 1000/20’  & 1500/40’

The individual package of separate B/L up to 50 kgs can be handled manually and may not be palletized but package of uniform size under any b/l must be unitized and palletized.
