Maersk Line announced details on rate increases for all cargo in Asia/Europe trades.
For westbound cargo moving from Asia to North Europe and Mediterranean, rates will increase $250 per TEU at main ports and $300 per TEU at out ports on April 1. In Taiwan the increases will go into effect April 9. A further $300-per-TEU increase for main ports and $350 for out ports will go into effect on July 1.
For eastbound services from Northern Europe, North Africa and Mediterranean to the Middle East and South Asia, the increases are $50 per 20-foot dry container and reefer and $100 per 40-foot dry container and reefer.
Maersk also said it will increase rate offers to inland haulage locations during April and May.
