Maersk Line has announced a series of changes to its rates, both increases and rate restorations.
As a result of market instability in Mediterranean/North America trade, Maersk Line has announced some general rate increases.
The filed increases are as US$200 per 20-foot dry container, $250 per 40-foot container or high cube, and the same for 45-foot containers and reefers.
The increase applies from all origin points in Italy, Spain and Portugal to all destinations in US.
Maersk has also announced a rate restoration programme from Asia to Latin America.
The new rates will be $500 per TEU between Asia and the East Coast of South America, $300 per TEU between Asia, the West Coast of South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
