CMA CGM is rationalising its Sirius service linking the Mediterranean with West Africa and the East Coast of South America.
As of March 12, the two loops of the service are merged into one single string, operated with seven 4,200 TEU vessels.
CMA CGM will provide two container vessels in the fleet.
The new rotation will be as follows: Valencia, Taragona, Barcelona, Livorno, Vado Ligure, Malta, Dakar, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Pecem, Valencia.
"With this rationalization, the current capacity deployed in the SIRIUS service will be reduced by almost 40 percent, explains Jean-Yves Duval, deputy vice-president Latin America Lines.
