Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics said it has started a service to the West Coast of South America, connecting Baltimore and Savannah directly to Guayaquil, Ecuador and Callao, Peru.
The roll-on/roll-off service will call the ports once a month. Transshipment cargo will be accepted from Galveston, Long Beach, Tacoma, Veracruz, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, three ports in Brazil, as well as Asian, Australian and European ports.
“South America’s economy attracts a variety of ro/ro cargo, from vehicles to agricultural, construction, mining and factory equipment,” said John Felitto, executive vice president, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Region Americas, in a statement.
