Carriers on a service between North America and Oceania have added a vessel to its rotation and increased its frequency, according to research from American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
The PSW service, operated by Hamburg Süd, CMA CGM subsidiary ANL, Maersk Line and Hapag-Lloyd, will now be operated with six vessels instead of five, on the same 42-day rotation, meaning it will have a fixed-day weekly frequency.
Previously the PSW had a nine-day frequency. Average vessel size on the service is 2,510 TEUs, with about a quarter of that capacity dedicated to reefer containers. Another CMA CGM subsidiary, U.S. Lines, is a slot buyer on the service.
The PSW links Oakland and Long Beach with Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Tauranga and Fiji.
