Asia-US routes add more calls

1/6/2010 9:13:34 AM

At least two liner services covering the trade route between Asia and the US are reportedly adding more ports, the Hindu Business Line reported.

India-US Indamex service – operated by Hapag Lloyd, CMA CGM, APL, OOCL and NYK – will expand its port rotation from this month by making an additional call at Pipavav. The service is operated with seven ships and the port rotation was recently increased by one week to eight weeks.

MSC too is expanding from this month port rotation of its Golden Gate Service, which connects Asia with US East Coast ports via the Suez Canal, by making a call at Charleston in addition to New York, Baltimore and Norfolk that it is touching now. The service is operated by a dozen ships.
