Mediterranean Shipping Co. said it will increase rates on all commodities from the United States to all Far East destinations on April 1.
The increase will be as follows:
• $225 for 20-foot containers and $300 for 40-foot containers for port-to-port movements from U.S. West Coast ports.
• $300 for 20-foot containers and $400 for 40-foot containers for cargo moving from intermodal points through U.S. West Coast ports.
• $300 for 20-foot containers and $400 for 40-foot container for port-to-port movements from U.S. East and Gulf coasts ports.
• $200 for 20-foot containers and $400 for 40-foot containers for cargo moving from intermodal points through U.S. East and Gulf coasts ports.
• For reefer cargo the increases will be $400 for 20-foot containers and $500 for 40-foot containers, regardless of which coast the port is located on and whether the shipment is a port-to-port or intermodal move.
