6/7/2010 10:29:57 AM

On June 3rd 2010, the management and staffs of TCCT and SNP cheerfully celebrated the first anniversary of TCCT. The representatives from the shipping lines, the major consignees and shippers and relating authorities has joined the event.

On June 3rd 2009, TCCT welcomed the first container vessel - vessel MOL PREMIUM of Mitsui O.S.K Lines (Japan) which has the LOA of 294 meters, capacity of 6,350 TEUs and the total tonnage of 73.000 DWT. TCCT was the first Vietnamese Deep-sea container terminal operational with the direct service to the US West Coast. This is an important milestone in the history of the terminal operation in Vietnam. The operation of TCCT and direct service to the USA has attracted the attention of the importers, exporters of Vietnam and in the world. The direct service from Vietnam to the American terminals without the trans-shipment at the other terminals in the region has made the positive contribution to saving cost and time, reducing risks for the exporters, importers and thus promoted the export of Vietnam.

After one year operational, TCCT now receives three voyages per week and almost all the biggest Alliances of the shipping lines in the world now have deployed the direct services from Vietnam to the East and West Coast of the USA at TCCT. After the TNWA including MOL, HMM and APL deployed the service to the US West Coast in June 2009, the CHYK also deployed a service to the US West Coast in July 2009 and Wanhai has also joined this service since February 2010. The Grand Alliance started their service to the US East Cast since January 2010. The container throughput at TCCT has also increased impressively. Since 3rd June 2009 to 31st 2009, TCCT handled 100,000 TEUs. In the first five six months of 2010, the volume of TCCT was 110,000 TEUs. After one year operational, TCCT has reached 210,000 TEUs. The present average handling productivity is 80 moves/h- double those in the initial days. The plan of TCCT in 2010 is to handle 250,000 TEUs.

The advanced and modern facilities and technology, geographically and economically advantageous location, the perfect link between TCCT and other Ices and Logistic premises of SNP in Ho Chi Minh city,  Binh Duong,  Dong Nai –the focal economic area in the South of Vietnam and  supplementary  waterway  connecting Cambodia, Mekong Delta to TCCT, prestige, service quality and professionalism have made TCCT to be the promising and confidential destination for the shipping lines, shipping agents, local and international importers and exporters as focused by the representatives of the Shipping lines in the Celebration.
