Mediterranean Shipping Co. will impose a peak season surcharge on all shipments from the Far East to the U.S. East and West Coasts effective Aug. 15.
MSC said it will place a peak season surcharge on all shipments from the Far East, including Japan, Korea, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam going to the U.S. East Coast and West Coast.
The peak season surcharge to U.S. East Coast and U.S. intermodal points moving through or via U.S. East Coast ports will be $320 per 20-foot equivalent unit, $400 per 40-foot equivalent unit and $450 per $40-foot high-cube container.
The surcharge for shipments to the U.S. West Coast and U.S. intermodal points moving through or via U.S. West Coast ports is $400 per TEU, $500 per FEU and $563 per 40-foot high cube container.
