German carrier Lufthansa says its SwissWorldCargo unit boosted cargo revenue by 30 per cent in August over the same month last year, while the group overall carried 18.7 per cent more cargo in August than a year ago.
The carrier transported 173,000 metric tons of freight last month, taking volume for the first eight months of the year to 1.29 million tons, up 19.2
per cent from the same period in 2009.
Lufthansa's Cargo load factor improved 3.9 percentage points to 65.6 per cent.
The airline is set to increase freight rates in October, the second rise in a year.
