CSAV Upgrades Chile-U.S. Service

12/11/2010 9:41:36 AM

CSAV is upgrading its service between the west coast of South America and the U.S. East Coast to a weekly fixed-day rotation that will provide a transit time of 15 days from San Antonio, Chile, to Port Everglades, Fla.

Starting Dec. 30 the Chilean carrier will include an extra northbound call at San Antonio to accommodate the 2010-2011 fruit season for cargo destined for the U.S. East Coast.

CSAV said the double call in San Antonio will enable it to maintain transit times for imports and improve times for exports. The service deploys six vessels with capacities of 2,500 20-foot equivalent units each.

With a roundtrip of 42 days, the weekly fixed-day service rotation is: San Antonio, San Vicente, San Antonio, Callao, Guayaquil, Cartagena, Port Everglades, Port Elizabeth, Baltimore, Charleston, Port Everglades, Cartagena, Manzanillo (MIT), Guayaquil, Callao and back to Port Antonio.
