The WCA Family Conference Week, which runs from 20-27 February, is now fully sold out, marking a new attendance record for the world’s largest and most influential freight forwarder network meeting.
Over 1,600 delegates from 160+ countries have registered to attend the week-long event – held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The state-of-the-art Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre will accommodate over 70,000 one-on-one business meetings conducted at 500 meeting tables and 80 specially-designed networking booths.
The record attendance signifies the robust strength of the independent forwarding sector in 2011 as it looks to capitalize on its gain in market share in 2010.
According to published data, independent forwarders increased their market share by almost 2 per cent in 2010, as the multinational forwarders suffered a fall in volumes and revenues.
WCA president David Yokeum said: “The new business opportunities, partnerships and revenue generating deals generated during the conference are unrivalled and provide a platform for WCA members that no other event can match. The value it provides is evident in the record-breaking number of members coming to Vietnam and gives a real indication of the strength and growing global influence of the independent sector.”
