Shanghai, Busan, Ningbo and Qingdao posted first quarter throughput growth of 12 percent to 21 percent over the same period in 2010, but Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Guangzhou individual growth levels hovered around 2 percent. Singapore’s first quarter volume growth was also 2 percent.
On the North American side, collective first quarter growth at Los Angeles and Long Beach was 8.5 percent, right in the middle between growth in Northeast Asia and South China.
