Delta Air Lines will suspend its Atlanta-Tel Aviv routes for the winter as it adjusts to high fuel costs and declines in demand by cutting flight capacity. Atlanta-based Delta plans to suspend its Atlanta-Tel Aviv route August 31 and Tel Aviv – Atlanta September 1, 2011. The airline plans to resume both routes by next summer (Service currently scheduled to resume from 25MAR12). The Atlanta-Tel Aviv route currently operates four times a week on board Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
The moves are part of Delta's plan to cut trans-Atlantic flight capacity by 10% to 12% later this year.
