DHL has announced the launch of its direct Less than Container Load (LCL) service from Shanghai to Seattle.
The new direct weekly LCL service, operated by Danmar Lines, will cover freight moving from China to Seattle and Portland on the West Coast in the US and can reduce the overall transit time between China and the US by four days, compared to current service transit times.
With cargo shipped directly from Shanghai to Seattle, customers can expect their shipments to arrive in the US within 12 days.
Kelvin Leung, CEO, North Asia Pacific, DHL Global Forwarding, said DHL had been rapidly expanding its LCL network in China and currently operated over 30 direct LCL services between the mainland and the US.
