CKYH pull East Coast via Suez loop

The CKYH Alliance will suspend a service connecting Asia to the U.S. East Coast for the winter season, according to a note from the maritime consultant Dynamar and confirmed by American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data. The alliance’s AWE-5 service has a rotation of Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Cai Mep, Singapore, Boston, New York/New Jesery, Norfolk, Singapore, and Kaohsiung. It’s currently operated with nine vessels (five from Hanjin Shipping, and two each from COSCO Container Lines and Yang Ming) with an average capacity of 5,719 TEUs. The fourth member of the alliance, “K” Line, calls the service NATCO-5, while Hyundai Merchant Marine takes slots, calling the service HZX. The last sailing on the service before it is suspended departs Kaohsiung Nov. 20.  American Shipper
