DHL said it has started a new direct less than container load service from Toronto to Singapore via the Port of Halifax.
DHL said the service will cut five days of transit time, with shipments arriving within 32 days.
"Increasingly, the Asian market has grown in importance to Canadian small and medium businesses,” said Marc Meier, senior vice president ocean freight, head of global LCL, DHL.
Singapore is Canada's second largest export market in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region. The service is operated by DHL’s in-house non-vessel operating common carrier Danmar Lines.
