The Grand Alliance plans to increase the size of the vessels it deploys on the joint trans-Atlantic service it operates with Hamburg Sud and Zim Integrated Shipping Services as of March.
Grand Alliance carriers Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL said they will deploy four ships with 5,400 20-foot equivalent units of capacity in place of the four 3,700 TEU ships in the current string.
The weekly fixed-day service continues to have the same port rotation: Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, Southampton, New York, Norfolk, Charleston and back to Rotterdam.
