CMA CGM said it plans to raise rates on a number of trades from April.
The proposed increases are:
- From India and Pakistan to North Europe, Mediterranean, Baltic, Black Sea and North Africa ports, $150 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container for dry or refrigerated cargo from April 2.
- From North Europe to Canada, $150 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container for dry or reefer cargo from April 10.
- From the East and West Med, and Black Sea to the U.S. East and Gulf coasts, $200 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container for dry or reefer cargo from April 15.
The line also said it will assess a peak season surcharge of $200 per container from Australia and New Zealand to the Caribbean and South America from April 15 through June 30.
