Hapag-Lloyd will impose a new round of general rate increases on its East Asia services, which will take effect in June.
The German carrier said rates on all cargo from East Asia, excluding Japan, to the Indian Subcontinent will go up by $200 per 20-foot container, effective June 1. The Subcontinent includes ports in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
From East Asia to the Caribbean and Panama, Hapag-Lloyd will raise its rates by $560 per 20-foot container and $800 per 40-foot container, starting June 15.
Rates on all cargo from East Asia to the east coast of South America will increase by $500 per 20-foot container, effective June 15.
From East Asia to Mexico, Central America and South America West Coast, the carrier’s planned rate hike will be $500 per 20-foot container, effective June 15.
Hapag-Lloyd will also push its rates up by $100 per 20-foot and $200 per 40-foot container on shipments from Mexico, Central America and South America West Coast to Asia, starting June 15.
