SITC starts Far East-south east Asian/Indonesia loop

QINGDAO's SITC Maritime (Group) Co. has commenced a container service connecting China, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, called the VTI. The VTI calls at Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Jakarta, Shanghai. It will turn in three weeks using three chartered ships in the 1,000-1,200 TEU range. The development comes as the company is exploring market opportunities in China's vast shipping and logistics market by expanding its services to boost its competitiveness.   Asian Shipper News
