The liner carrier Hapag-Lloyd said this week Hanjin Shipping, its partner on a service between the Mediterranean and Montreal, will drop off the service at the end of November.
Hapag-Lloyd will then operate the five-ship MCA service on a standalone basis. Currently, Hanjin provides one of the five ships. The service has a rotation of Valencia, Cagliari, Salerno, Livorno, Genoa, Marseilles-Fos, Algeciras, Montreal, Algeciras, and Valencia. According to ComPair Data, average ship size on the service is 2,600 TEUs.
From Oct. 21, Hapag-Lloyd said it will include a call at Lisbon.
