HANJIN Shipping will cease to take slots on the 'Asia-Black Sea Express' (ABX) operated by CSCL, 'K' Line, Yang Ming, PIL and Wan Hai, halting its direct service between Asia, Turkey and the Black Sea from mid-February.
The ABX service provides direct connections from the Far East to Istanbul in Turkey and the Black Sea ports of Illichevsk in Ukraine and Constantza in Romania.
The carrier is expected to continue to serve Turkey via transhipment at Port Said with the intra-Mediterranean 'Turkey-Levant Service' (TLS), jointly operated by Hanjin Shipping, Arkas Line and Turkon Line.
Black Sea ports are no longer advertised after Hanjin's last ABX sailing scheduled to depart from Shanghai on February 13.
Hanjin has been purchasing slots on the ABX service since May 2012.
