From January 2013, Hamburg Süd will be offering two new services from the Mexican port of Manzanillo to Central America West Coast.
Sling 1 will connect Manzanillo with Acajutla (El Salvador), Corinto (Nicaragua) and Puerto Caldera (Costa Rica). Sling 2 is a direct connection from Manzanillo to Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala).
With the inclusion of the new service between US West Coast, Ecuador and Peru, Puerto Quetzal will be called at twice weekly.
The first sailing from Manzanillo in Sling 1 will be with the 860 TEU Falmouth on January 9, and Sling 2 is to start with the sailing of the 900 TEU Oberon on January 10.
These new services, which are part of a restructuring of the line’s West Coast Central America Service, will add the growing markets in Central America to the Hamburg Süd Asia-Latin America West Coast Service and the two West Coast North America Services.
