Evergreen has announced several rate hikes that will go into effect in February.
Effective Feb. 1, from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh to the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the rate increase will be $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container and $506 per 45-foot high-cube container.
Starting Feb. 1, from the Far East (excluding India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and South Africa to British Columbia, the rate increase will be $480 per 20-foot container, $600 per 40-foot container, $675 per 40-foot high-cube container and $760 per 45-foot high-cube container.
From the Far East and South Africa to the rest of Canada (excluding British Columbia), the rate increase will be $640 per 20-foot container, $800 per 40-foot container, $900 40-foot high-cube container and $1,013 per 45-foot high-cube container, beginning Feb. 1.
From India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh to Canada, the rate hike will be $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container and $506 per 45-foot high-cube container. These hikes will also take effect on Feb. 1.
Additionally, rates will be increased for all dry commodities from all origins starting Feb. 15. The rate hike will be $160 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube container.
None of the rate increases applies to refrigerated cargo.
