CMA CGM announced a peak season surcharge from all Asian ports to all northern European ports. The surcharge will be $250 per 20-foot container, effective Jan. 28.
The French ocean carrier will also implement a general rate increase from North Europe to the west coast of South America. The rate hike will be $300 per 20-foot container on all shipments excluding refrigerated cargo.
Additionally, the company will add a call at Napier, New Zealand, to its fixed-day weekly ANZEX service, beginning in March, and has extended its present FEMEX 1 service linking Greece and northern Turkey with various origins via Malta, with calls at Tanger Med, Morocco, and Algeciras, Spain.
