Mediterranean Shipping Co., will increase rates on all southbound cargo from Europe and the Mediterranean to Australia and New Zealand, effective April 1.
The increase will be $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container.
MSC will also hike rates from the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea to South America’s east coast, effective April 1.
For dry and refrigerated cargo from Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, South Russia-Novorossiysk, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel and Cyprus, the hike will be $200 per 20-foot-equivalent unit. For dry and reefer cargo from Syria, the hike will be $150 per TEU.
In addition, MSC will increase rates by $150 per TEU on all cargo from the Mediterranean to South America’s east coast, effective as of week 14, starting with MSC Cadiz, voyage 314 A, and MSC Maureen, voyage 314 A.
