In April, MacAndrews will set up a refrigerated train service linking Murcia with Balboa in Spain, in order to reinforce its current European 45-foot container reefer multimodal service.
The train will depart twice weekly, although in the short term, a daily reefer rail service will be established. As a result, MacAndrews will link Spanish horticultural producers with Europe via the MacAndrews vessels operating from the Port of Bilbao.
The project involves two strategic partners: Continental Rail, as a rail operator, and the Fuentes Group, for the management of the Nonduermas rail terminal in Murcia.
