EVERGREEN Line is revising its Far East-South America service (ESA) by teaming up with Cosco and Zim to boost the capacity and by adding two Brazilian ports.
Effective May 11, port calls in Rio Grande and Itapoa will be added to the current service that links China and Singapore to the east coast of South America.
The new port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Yantian, Hong Kong, Singapore, Santos, Paranagua, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Itapoa, Santos, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
The existing fleet of 3,000-TEU vessels will be replaced with ten 8,500-TEU ships. Evergreen will provide five, Cosco three and ZIM two.
A company release said the new loop will enable Evergreen Line to meet growing demand on this trade and provide customers with a more efficient service.
