Mediterranean Shipping Co. will increase rates on three of its trade routes, effective June 1.
The increase will be $100 per dry container on the following routes
- From North Europe and the Baltic Sea and Scandinavia to Asia, including Japan.
- From the west Mediterranean and Adriatic to Asia, including Japan.
- From the east Mediterranean to Asia, including Japan.
Rates for all cargo in the trade from the Far East to West Africa, including Angola will be $250 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
The Geneva-based container line also will change the tariffs for all cargo on its trade from Asia to Europe, starting June 1, and will boost rates for all cargo on its trade from Asia to New Zealand on July 1 by $200 per TEU.
