LUXEMBOURG's Cargolux will start flying B747-8F or B747-400 freighters through Muscat International Airport from Luxembourg every Saturday on their way to Hong Kong, starting June 29, the Oman News Agency reported.
Samir bin Ahmed al-Nabhani, general manager of commercial operations at Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) said that the operation of Muscat route by Cargolux was the result of efforts made to attract international air freight carriers.
Sheik bin Ahmed al-Nabhani said Cargolux has a fleet of eleven B747-400 freighters in addition to seven B747-8Fs.
"The consignments will be mainly heavy equipment used in oil industry. The cargo flight can also carry the Sultanate's products to Hong Kong and Asia," he said.
