TACOMA area Westwood Shipping Lines is entering the reefer container market with the launch of a fortnightly service connecting Seattle and Vancouver with Tomakomai, Japan and Busan, South Korea.
The service, offering high cube FEUs, started in June with the sailing of the geared 30,135 dwt Westwood Cascade from Seattle.
At first, Westwood Shipping will only take frozen and chilled cargo to Tomakomai and Busan, but the ocean carrier plans to accept the full range of commodities on its WSL Service 2 rotation.
